Vitae
Dr.
George Beck is native to Pueblo, Colorado where he has been practicing
for the past 30 years. Dr. Beck graduated from Creighton University,
Omaha, Nebraska providing expertise in general dentistry and emphasizing
implantology. His implant practice has grown over the past 15 years
to make up approximately 75% of his practice.
Dr. Beck graduated
from Creighton University, Omaha, Nebraska providing expertise in
general dentistry and specializing in implantology. Dr. Beck has
lectured and provided technical training locally and abroad. He
was recently awarded Diplomate status with the American Board of
Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry, May 1999. He also has Diplomate
Status within the International
Congress of Oral Implantologists, and is a member of the The
American Academy of Implant Dentistry. Dr. Beck has been on the
staff at the Misch International Implant Institute for the past
12 years. Dr. Beck has also been selected as a lifetime member of
the Who's Who in Dentistry.
Dr. Beck was
allowed to place the first two implants ever done at Creighton University,
because of his preceptorship training in periodontics and oral surgery,
including repair of 12 fractured mandibles. Those implants were
placed by Dr Beck in 1971 as a dental student. He has received training
from implanfcologists from both the USA and Europe including; Dr.
Daniel Patrick, Dr. Ralph Roberts and especially Dr. Hilt Tatum
and Dr. Carl Misch at their dental office giving hands on, one on
one, training in implant, block intraoral grafts and iliac crest
grafts. In 1987 Dr Beck went through the Misch Institute.
Dr.
Beck has approximately 3500 to 4000 hours of A.G.D. approved courses,
including 8 days of I.V. Sedation, 25 days of the Denary S.O.S.
occlusal course, to include many hours of hands on training in Crown
and Bridge and Periodontics. Dr Beck receives a minimum of 150 hours
and as much as 500 hours per year through teaching and study at
The Misch Implant Institute. This training includes all phases of
implant dentistry, (i.e., surgery, prosthetics, pharmacology, hygiene,
etc.) Dr Beck is also involved with research in the development
of the BioHorizons
implant and one of the seven centers that is participating in the
FDA five year study.
Dr. Beck is
a co-author on THE BIOHORIZON DENTAL IMPLANT SYSTEMS:Stage I Implant
Placement Surgery and Stage II AbutmentConnection A Preliminary
Report, March 1997, and A BONE QUALITYBASED IMPLANT SYSTEM: A Preliminary
Report of Stage I and StageII, IMPLANT DENTISTRY/VOLUME 7, ISSUE
1 1998. Dr. Beck also published an article in the September 1998
issue of Compendium of Continuing Education in Dentistry.
He also co authored
an article in Dentistry Today, March 1998 issue, RIDGE AUGMENTATION
FOR TREATMENT OF SEVERE PREMAXILLARY ATROPHY: A Surgical Technique
and GRAFTING FRESH EXTRACTION SOCKETS: A case study. He also helped
in the design for the delivery system for Perma Ridge R in reference
to this same article. In 1999 he lectured with the Perio Institute
on bone grafting for the general dentist. Prior to dentistry Dr
Beck was a plumber and pipe fitter for seven years. He attributes
his analytical, mechanical, and engineering view point in Implant
Dentistry to his previous years as a plumber and his involvement
with the construction business. Dr. Beck is married to Cynthia and
has a 7 year old daughter, Sable
